The novel “Daniel is Silent” is about courage and self-sacrifice, about the feminine essence and the nature of love, about the drama of a modern young woman who is ready to do anything to cure her son. Melanie lives in London with her husband and two children. They have an exemplary family. But when their youngest son, Daniel, is diagnosed with autism, the idyll collapses like a house of cards. Daniel doesn't sleep at night, cries often and stubbornly refuses to talk. While her husband seeks solace in the arms of his ex-girlfriend, Melanie obsessively tries to help her boy, acting contrary to medical recommendations, social conventions and the advice of her neighbors. She will have to go through a lot on this path. And yet, strength of spirit, hope and kind people will help her not only survive, but also win. This reliable, optimistic and very bright story captivates no less than the famous film “Rain Man”. A film adaptation of the novel is currently being prepared, the main role should be played by Julia Roberts, who has already starred in the famous film based on the previous book by Marty Leimbach, “Dying Young.”
