In 1970, a few days before graduating from Pelham College, senior Helen Prince threw herself from the campus's Gothic tower. Police ruled it a suicide, but her twin sister did not believe the official version of events. Thirty years later, now a world-famous best-selling author, she still yearns for an answer and hosts an alumni reunion on her island. Cook Faith Fairchild, the sister of one of the students, is hired to cater the week-long celebration. A wonderful job (the house is a mini-resort with an impressive view of the ocean and all the amenities for relaxation) turns into a nightmare when Faith discovers that she is trapped on the island not with the group longtime friends, but with a group of suspects. The heroine finds herself drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when the island's guests begin to die one after another.
