The Shadow War is over. The Shadows left the galaxy, going beyond the Reach. The young races work together in peace and harmony as part of the noble United Alliance, under the leadership of the Blessed Delenn, and under the protection of the formidable Dark Star fleet led by the "Shadowkiller", General John Sheridan. The Narns and the Centauri have reconciled, the Minbari are reforming their Gray Council, and Za'ha'dum is a world that is guarded day and night by the Vorlon fleet.

With Babylon 5 finally completed, the Alliance is ready to enter a new era , a golden age of peace and prosperity. But in a galaxy that has known only war, it is not easy to quickly grasp the concept of peace. The new era demanded something new - to learn not how to fight, but how to live. Some found this knowledge in work, others through attempts to build a new world, but to for some this knowledge did not come, and there was only an ongoing war. And through the dead wastelands of space, ancient ships sail, gathering together for purposes unknown to anyone.

He came a thousand years ago, a Minbari born not from a Minbari. He brought them victory and hope, and he changed their society for ten centuries. But who was he? Who were those who supported him and those who betrayed him? Who were those who loved him and those who hated him? And the greatest question of all - where did he go on that memorable day when he left this world? The time has come for all the questions to be answered and more than one mystery to be revealed...

For a year and a half, he has been gone. Shrouded in mystery and rumour, he has been walking in the shadows at the corner of the mind's eye. It is time for him to return. As the Brotherhood Without Banners prepares the next stage of its devastating campaign of terror, as Dexter Smith struggles to investigate what is happening to the telepaths, as G'Kar learns some horrifying secrets, and as Sheridan stars into the abyss of his own soul, Sinoval will reach out his hand and return to the galaxy. And two steps behind him.... is Sebastian.

All things have a price, all actions have a consequence, but no one suspected this. Across an entire world, eyes look up at the heavens to see a black shadow fall across the sun, and a voice speaks to an entire race. "Behold the price of disobedience. Behold the price of dealing with the Shadow." And then the screaming begins.

It begins as shock. It turns to anger, then fear. A dead world. A homeless people. And a lust for revenge. All forces begin to converge on Babylon 5, demanding answers, demanding retribution, demanding justice. Kats and Sinoval and Corwin and Delenn and Sheridan and the remnants of the Narn people. And Sebastian. And the Vorlons. Truth is a three-edged sword - but then understanding is not required. Only obedience.

It was a dream created out of hope in the darkest of days, but now that hope is gone and the dream has gone with it. The alliance is far from united - divided, disintegrating and stricken with grief. Sinoval gathers a council among the ruins of Golgotha, where everyone will have to face the future and prepare for it. On Minbari, on Centauri Prime, on Kazomi-7 on Babylon 5, and even on Z'ha'dum itself, the flames of war flare up. And somewhere else, beyond these are watched by black ancient dead eyes, waiting for the moment when they will be able to do more than just watch...

There was a time of peace. There was a time of hope. There was a time when it was possible to forget about the war. This time is over. Too late for peace, too late for hope, too late for prayers. For the sake of freedom, life and the fate of the galaxy - only war is possible here.

With the end of the war - and more than war, peace has come. But in order for something to be built from the ashes of the galaxy, the survivors must show courage, wisdom and faith, and most of all, trust.

All stories, if told long enough, one way or another end in death. And, without a doubt, this is not always a bad thing. Sinoval.
