The trilogy “Christ and Antichrist” occupies a central place in the work of the outstanding Russian writer, historian and philosopher D.S. Merezhkovsky. In novels whose heroes are undoubtedly significant historical figures, the author expresses one of his main ideas: the eternal struggle between Christ and Antichrist intensifies at the climactic moments of history. The arena of this struggle, as well as the struggle between Christianity and paganism, becomes the souls of the main characters.
