It is known that ballet was born in Italy in the 16th century. At first these were dance scenes and episodes in musical and opera performances. In France, brought from Italy, the new genre becomes part of the court theatrical culture and turns into magnificent ceremonial spectacles, the basis of which are folk and court dances that were part of the ancient suite. Ballet experienced its second birth in the second half of the 18th century thanks to the reforms of the French choreographer Jean Nover, who created a new type of ballet performances. The new book in the series tells about one hundred of the most famous and renowned masters of world ballet.
