This textbook is intended for students of all forms of study at law and economic faculties of universities when studying such academic disciplines as “Transport Law”, “Legal Regulation of International Transport”, “International Logistics”. The work consists of two parts and is a comprehensive a textbook providing theoretical and practical training in English in the field of international private transport law and documentary operations of international commercial turnover. The types and functions of bills of lading and their evidentiary value are determined. The documentary circulation of bills of lading within the framework of the execution of international contracts for the carriage of goods, the purchase and sale of goods, as well as letter of credit agreements is shown. The role, place and significance of multimodal bills of lading in international transactions for the supply of goods is determined. Several proformas of bills of lading operating in international circulation are presented. The second part presents the most typical articles of bills of lading in English, equipped with a set of language exercises. At the end, the Appendices contain samples of various bills of lading in English with translation into Russian and a glossary of the most commonly used terms and phrases found in bills of lading.
