The great French emperor and commander was born on the island of Corsica, which belonged to the Genoese Republic. In 1768, the Genoese gave Corsica to France for debts, but the Corsicans themselves rebelled against this and accepted their new citizenship only after defeat by the French army. In just a few years, the great Corsican managed to conquer almost all of Europe. At the same time, he helped the conquered states take the path of democracy, and also gave his descendants the opportunity to rule a renewed and expanded empire. The proposed publication includes the memoirs of the great commander about the military campaigns carried out, as well as the commander’s manuscript, which was found among the papers of Count Las Casas, voluntarily who followed Napoleon Bonaparte into exile on the island of St. Helena.
