Publisher's abstract: On June 20, 1942, Marshal Rommel took Tobruk in Libya with an attack on the move. How could this happen? Why did the British, having a double superiority in strength, fail to defend this fortified fortress? And in November 1942, the Allies landed in North Africa. They had a huge superiority in forces, but progress was painfully slow, and every kilometer of the road was abundantly watered with blood. One theater of military operations, but two different wars... Why? This is what the works of Samuel W. Mitchum and David Rolfe are about.
