“Under the Shelter of the Almighty” is an autobiographical book. The author of the memoirs is Natalia Nikolaevna Sokolova, the daughter of the famous spiritual writer, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Evgrafovich Pestov. Born and raised in an Orthodox Moscow family, from childhood surrounded by deeply religious people, the girl very early begins to understand that nothing happens by chance in life. In the chain of all the events and meetings with amazing people described in the memoirs, the author invariably sees God’s Providence. Vividly, figuratively telling about her difficult life path, the trials that befell the wife of a priest, the mother of five children, Natalia Nikolaevna tries to convince the reader of the truth of the Savior’s words: I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. I am with you always, even to the end of the age. “I will be glad,” she writes in conclusion, “if those who read my work understand that the Lord is close, that He always hears us and will not leave us without His help.” The author talks about the life of an Orthodox family with its joys and sorrows, paying great attention to questions Christian education of children. It is no coincidence that Natalia Nikolaevna dedicates her memoirs to all Orthodox women.
