The book tells about the participation of the Cossacks as part of the Bohemian (Main) Army in the 1814 campaign in France. The focus is on three cases: the actions of Cossack regiments as part of mixed detachments of allies, an independent raid of a detachment of Cossacks under the command of Ataman M.I. Platov, Cossacks at the Main Apartments and in the personal convoy of Alexander I. The human dimension of war is emphasized, primarily perception Cossacks by the civilian population of France under conditions of intervention and military occupation.
