The book, in a form accessible to young readers, tells about the course of the Great Patriotic War, starting from the chronicle of battles and ending with an emotional description of the exploits of Soviet soldiers, officers and generals. The author told about heroes of all branches and types of troops, as well as about Soviet partisans and underground fighters who mercilessly crushed the enemy. A separate part of the book is devoted to the enormous role of the Russian Orthodox Church in raising the morale of Soviet soldiers.
