Georgy Malenkov is perhaps the most mysterious person in Russian history of the 20th century. Numerous articles, detailed monographs, artistic biographies, and even entire book series are devoted to all other leaders of Russia and the USSR. There is almost complete silence about Malenkov. Why did this happen? Is this statesman, about whom the people have long had good memories, unworthy of attention? After all, G. M. Malenkov can rightfully be called the third leader of the Land of Soviets after V. I. Lenin and J. V. Stalin. Malenkov had his own political personality, his own ideas and concepts for the development of the ruling party and the country. But his short reign was unreasonably “lost” in our historiography between the Stalin and Khrushchev eras.
