Cecil Roth is a famous British researcher and a leading specialist in the history of Jews, the author of many works on this topic, and represents the Venetian life of the Jewish community in the 15th-17th centuries. Based on historical research and documentary materials, Roth created a vivid, interesting and dramatic picture of the daily life of Jews in the Venetian Republic in the territory allocated to them, called the ghetto.
