Andrei Dietzel's metanovel justifies sodomy and the destruction of Hamburg. The author's humanism is ancient, the rhetoric is biblical. There is no death, but life goes on in two countries. The first topos is sharply continental, the second seaside, with a Fish Market and a red light district. Dietzel, a famous Lebenskünstler and poet, finds it boring to shock or scandalize. He breaks taboos willingly, but casually. He doesn't force his old-fashioned ideals on anyone. If he loves, he does not remain silent.
