Автор вдало поєднує елементи фентезі та романтики, створюючи захоплюючий сюжет, в якому головна героїня Айві Стром, сповнена рішучості знайти свого зниклого брата, стикається з непростими виборами. Її партнер, напівлюдина-напівдемон Ронан Еймс, є не лише потужним союзником у боротьбі з ворогами, але й джерелом незвичайних почуттів, які ставлять під загрозу їхню місію. Взаємодія між персонажами настільки ж напружена, як і захоплююча, а їхні стосунки розвиваються на фоні небезпеки та інтриг.
