The book includes an almost memoir story “Three Fathers and Many Uncles”, chapters from which were published in the magazines “Friendship of Peoples”, “Day and Night”, “Snob”, “Story”, and in Novaya Gazeta. In the author’s immediate circle there were such famous people as Alexey German, Bulat Okudzhava, Andrei Voznesensky, Evgeny Yevtushenko, David Samoilov, Yuri Shchekochikhin, Stanislav Rassadin and others. All of them are covered in this story. The poem “Pavlenko Street” seems to continue the theme of memories, and the book ends with a collection of essays “Gone Poets.”
