On November 22, 1909, the genius of Soviet helicopter construction, Mikhail Leontyevich Mil, was born. He was a Genius with a capital G, who lived to work, and did not work to live. For Mikhail Mil, work was a second home to which he flew with every new dawn. The most famous aircraft manufacturers admired his genius and talent, and some even envied him with various colors of envy. He had to endure a lot in life, even the death of his own children. Fate was quite cruel to Mikhail Leontyevich, but, despite the war of 1941–1945 and the death of his acquaintances, he continued to create in difficult times, wanting to create the first Soviet helicopter. It is thanks to Mikhail Mil that in Russia there are irreplaceable helicopters of the Mi series, which have various purposes: these are both military helicopters and helicopters that perform transport functions.
