The monograph examines for the first time the semantics and poetics of non-realistic novels in Sweden in the second half of the 20th and early 21st centuries. Based on a wide range of literary material, issues of personal identity, the perception of the Swedish socio-economic model, the feminization of society, religious and ethical values, which have become the subject of artistic reflection, are analyzed. The relationship between the social environment and the national literary process is examined. The theoretical aspect of the work is related to one of the main issues of modern literary criticism - the discussion of the criteria of realistic and non-realistic art.
