Little Antoshka lives in the Altai Territory in a small village. Local residents call him a dog, but they are in no hurry to help. A couple of years ago, Antoshka’s mother died in a fire, and now the dog Naida is raising the child. The animal remained devoted to the child of its former owners and taught him everything: how to run on all fours, how to protect himself from uninvited guests, how to sniff food so as not to get poisoned. Antoshka lived with the dog for three years, and all this time she saved him from death. Will a child who cannot speak human be able to return to human society? And how will he cope with separation from his adoptive mother from the animal world?
