Thoughts on The Nature of Mass Movements) brought Eric Hoffer worldwide fame: written in 1951, the study of the recognized classic of social thought is devoted to the nature and content of mass movements of humanity - be they parties, religious movements, national or social revolutions. How can we explain the attraction for the masses of such controversial figures in world history and spiritual culture as Christ, Buddha, Mohammed, Hitler, Stalin? By identifying patterns, the author gives original, sometimes paradoxical answers.
