Блісс Едвардс - яскравий персонаж, з яким легко ідентифікуватися, адже її переживання та емоції знайомі багатьом молодим людям. Автор вдало поєднує романтичні моменти з комедійними ситуаціями, що робить читання неймовірно приємним. Ситуація, в якій Блісс залишає свого "одноденного" хлопця голим у своєму ліжку, викликає сміх і водночас змушує замислитися про відповідальність у стосунках. Взаємодія між Блісс та її новим професором театру додає сюжету інтриги та напруги, адже їхня історія розвивається у несподіваному напрямку.
