The events of the novel take place in Russia and England at the beginning of the 21st century. However, the reality of this world is alternative to the existing one. The planet is dominated by the alliance of Russia and France. Two centuries ago, countries joined forces to bring treacherous Britain to its knees. But England did not reconcile. Foggy Albion, having lost two European and two world wars that it started, is again trying to regain its former greatness... In the village of Avebury, Russian officer Sergei Dobromyslov tragically dies. The village is surrounded by huge ancient megaliths. This land has been shrouded in black mysticism since time immemorial. How did Dobromyslov end up here? What does the historical society Heritage of the Past, based in Avebury, do? Who rules the black coven in the village?..Step by step the heroes move towards understanding the terrible wonders of Avebury. They find the answer in the West Kennet ritual tomb, near which Dobromyslov’s body was discovered. There, with his help, at the cost of difficult trials, the heroes prevent a threat to the Franco-Russian alliance and the world order as a whole. But when, it would seem, everything is already behind, a powerful mysterious enemy emerges from the shadows...
