The court magician of the Damascus caliph Al-Ashdin is killed as a result of palace intrigues, but a book with his notes remains behind him. The book travels through the centuries and, passing through the hands of Giordano Bruno, Isaac Newton, Jacob Bruce, ends up with two programmers who manage to partially decipher it and transfer the spells to the program code. The book is also passionately desired by several magical orders that have been hunting for it for many centuries. Will the main character, being an ordinary person, be able to win the fight against newly minted sorcerers and powerful magical orders?
