“Tales of the Drunken Prosod” is the story of two mystically connected souls, in one of their earthly incarnations appearing as the ancient Greek girl Xenia (more than anything else in the world she loves listening to fairy tales) and the gray-bearded old man Prosod (drinks exclusively goat’s milk, does not eat meat and doesn't remember his name). He visits her every ten years and tells wonderful stories from their distant future, having previously fallen into a trance. However, their life is just a thread on which 10 short stories are strung, and it is these that the wanderer in white robes tells. And his stories are amazingly varied and voluminous prose, full of irony, brilliance and restraint. The novel by the poet Nadia Delalande, written in the spirit of mystical realism, is a gentle, funny and smart book. It is primarily about love and overcoming the fear of death (and ultimately death itself), but it is so easy to read that you want to immediately re-read it, and then give it to all your friends, acquaintances and even strangers, if they are kind and beautiful. p>
