“History of Armenia” by the largest Armenian medieval historian, one of the outstanding representatives of world historiography Movses Khorenatsi covers the period from the formation of the Armenian people to the life of the author - the 5th century. n. e. and is the first complete presentation of the history of Armenia. It contains rich and unique material on ancient Armenian mythology, folk art, pagan religion, the internal life of the country and its connections with the outside world. It also contains numerous and valuable data on the history and culture of neighboring countries. The work reveals the author's critical attitude towards the sources used; it is distinguished by exceptional literary merits - harmonious structure, vivid description of figures and events, imagery and laconicism of language. The work of Movses Khorenatsi had a huge influence on subsequent Armenian historiography.
