Not far from an elite village near Moscow, in the river, the corpse of successful businessman Alexander Golikov was found. Captain Fyodor Starostin, a local police officer, conducted a preliminary investigation and came to the conclusion that the businessman was most likely killed by his own wife Nadezhda. The captain decided to take Nadezhda into custody, but after a few days the woman had to be released, as all suspicions regarding her involvement in the murder had dissipated.
