Several women were brutally murdered in Stockholm. The state murder investigation commission under the leadership of Torkel Höglund has reached a dead end. These murders are identical to those committed by Edward Hinde, a serial killer who was put behind bars fifteen years ago by police psychologist Sebastian Bergman. There, in the maximum security prison "Lövhaga", Hinde resides. Sebastian no longer works for the police, but demands that he be allowed into the investigation. He soon realizes that the murders are connected to each other in ways he could never have imagined.
