Boris Yampolsky (1912 - 1972) began publishing as a teenager. Before the war he graduated from the Literary Institute. At the front he was a correspondent for Krasnaya Zvezda, then for Izvestia. He worked in besieged Leningrad and fought in a partisan detachment in Belarus. This book is a collection of works by a wonderful, undeservedly forgotten writer, an attempt to highlight three facets of his talent - prose writer, philosopher and memoirist.
