One day a Stranger flew from warm lands to the distant kingdom. Out of pity, he sheltered a young Widow with her son the Serpent. The Widow and the Stranger did not love each other, but decided to live together. They wanted to build a palace so that in their old age they would have somewhere to stay warm, but neither the Stranger nor the Widow had the knowledge and skills. They gave birth to two more children: Fairy and Little Wolf. Every year their palace grew, but its walls were flimsy and the interior was terrible. And so the palace rose - beautiful on the outside, but ugly on the inside. Everyone pretended not to notice his true appearance. The fairy is tired of pretending.
