Yuri Korolkov’s book “So It Was…” is a continuation of the chronicle novel “Secrets of War” and tells about further events during the Second World War. The action of the novel takes place at Hitler's headquarters and in the anti-fascist underground in Germany, in Churchill's office and at meetings American magnates, among Italian soldiers at Stalingrad and in fascist death camps, at de Gaulle’s headquarters and in rebellious Paris, among Greek patriots and on the barricades of Warsaw, at the Tehran conference and among partisans in the mountains of Slovakia, on the English Channel coast at the opening of the second front and in the secret apartment of the American resident Allen Dulles... Like the first book, the novel is written on a documentary basis.
