Vladik comes to the village for the summer. He immediately notices that a mysterious box has appeared in the house, with a light burning inside. It turned out to be an incubator. He breeds chicks instead of a goose. And soon fourteen little yellow goslings appear. Vladik helps his grandfather look after the kids. But the goslings do not have a real mother. This fact upsets the boy very much, and he decides to introduce the goslings to adult birds.
