The Weathermonger. 1968.England. The near future, there is a lot of machine phobia in the country, people are returning to the medieval way of life. The weather over England is changing dramatically thanks to the appearance of “Weather Vendors”, which is clearly visible to other countries from satellites. Any attempts to conduct reconnaissance ended in failure - all the equipment inevitably fell apart when it entered England, people, as a rule, did not return, or returned but were no longer capable of a clear explanation. By luck, the main character did not succumb to the phobia and he and his younger sister managed to leave the country and reach the shores of France. In France, he is recruited and sent back to conduct reconnaissance. “The Weather Salesman” is the first part of the trilogy. The remaining parts: “Heartsease” (1970), “The Devil's Children” (1971).
