In the middle of the year and in the middle of her life, Bethany Hamlin goes on a road trip with her daughter Annie and her former mother-in-law Ruth. She was recently widowed and, in order to unwind, wants to go to a meeting of former classmates and, most importantly, to see her first love Royce, a feeling for whom she carried throughout her life. Bethany herself needs time to think about the important decision she has to make.
