The book contains the lives of ten ancient sages. These are Pythagoras, Heraclitus, Parmenides, Zeno, Protagoras, Democritus, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Diogenes of Sinope - the wisest of the wisest not only in ancient Greek philosophy, but throughout world culture. For each sage, the author solves a triune task: personality-teaching-modernity, i.e. tells about the life and fate of the sage, his main ideas and their modern development. Each time requires its own reading of the unfading ancient wisdom. Using vivid figurative language, the author conveys to the reader the aroma of ancient wisdom and its unfading beauty.
