One of the largest writers of today's Italy, novelist, playwright, publicist, winner of international and national awards, Luigi Malerba occupies a prominent place in world literature of the 20th century. He started out as a journalist and cinematographer, co-writing the script with C. Zavattini and A. Moravia. Malherbe's first works - the novels "The Snake" and "Salto Mortale" - bear the imprint of the neo-avant-garde. Subsequently, he often changes his writing style, but his texts almost always contain irony and grotesqueness. The novel "Ghosts of Rome" is a roll call of two voices, Jano and Clarissa, a husband and wife who struggle to maintain the precarious balance of their married life, experiencing difficult moments of melancholy and despair. One day, a thick notebook covered in Jano's illegible handwriting, falling into Clarissa's hands, turns out to be a mirror full of ghosts for her, in which she sees herself and her future.
