A dog's coat is the most important component of its entire appearance. The choice of breed is often determined by the owner’s preference for one or another type of coat. At the same time, the skin and coat perform extremely important physiological functions in the dog’s body and require specific care. Almost all problems that arise with a dog’s skin and coat turn out to be associated with serious disorders in the animal’s body and require in-depth analysis by a specialist. In the book, we tried to acquaint readers with the structure and main functions of the coat and skin, their main problems and principles of care wool. Recommendations for caring for different types of coats are based primarily on the specifics of its structure, characteristics of growth and development during the process of ontogenesis. The publication will be of interest to dog owners, breeders, groomers, veterinarians and veterinary students.
