Second half of the 1990s. Police captain Sergei Ratnikov, as part of a combined OMON detachment, goes on a business trip to Chechnya. After another skirmish with militants, the feds find a wounded woman among the attackers. To his great surprise, Ratnikov recognizes his ex-wife Oksana in her. A few years ago their paths diverged. After the divorce, Oksana left with her son for Krasnodar and married a Chechen. He turned out to be a terrorist, dragged his wife into a “just” war, and exposed her to bullets. The unexpected meeting stirred up the feelings of the former spouses. And soon they had a real opportunity to prove in practice that their love had not died.
