The training manual summarizes data on the organization and conduct of environmental analytical monitoring of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) - polychlorinated dioxins, dibenzofurans, biphenyls, chlorine-containing pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorophenols, phthalates, chlorobenzenes, organic compounds of mercury, tin and lead in natural environments and living organisms, as well as the use of analytical chemistry methods to determine these substances in various objects. The features of the distribution of POPs in natural environments, their properties, and classification are considered. Much attention is paid to methods of sampling, sample preparation and determination of POPs in natural matrices.
