"Great Soviet Encyclopedia" (RZ) is the largest publication of the Soviet era, containing extensive knowledge in all fields of science, culture, history and technology. First published in 1926 as an important part of the educational program of the Soviet government, RZ was published in 65 volumes and contained more than 100,000 articles. Its pages revealed the entire world history to the reader, talked about various aspects of society's life, and also analyzed the latest achievements in the fields of science and technology. Being an almost invaluable source of knowledge for every educated Soviet citizen, the Russian Federation belongs to the symbols of the cultural heritage of the former Soviet Union.
