In a number of books about a major entrepreneur and US President Donald Trump, published in Russian, perhaps only this work makes a serious attempt to study the secret springs of American politics, possible centers of power that determine the country’s domestic and foreign policy. Much attention is paid to the genealogy of Donald Trump and, as a consequence, the pattern of his acquisition of power. In addition, author Vladimir Tkachenko-Hildebrandt examines Trump’s “messiahism” in the context of the religious components of American history, mystical Judaism and the prophetic revelations of American writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The appendix contains for the first time in Russian fragments of Ingersoll Lockwood’s story “1900, or the Last President,” which in 1896 predicted Trump’s impeachment, which ultimately would not shake his power. At the end of the book there is Trumpiana Russica - a consolidated bibliography of works about Trump and Trump himself, published in Russian. The book is intended for a thoughtful reader who is alien to the spirit of modern profanity, as well as for students of political science departments of Russian universities interested in the close intertwining of politics, genealogy, theology, mysticism and business in American society.
