Former officer of the Tsarist Navy L.M. Galler, who fully accepted the ideas of the Great October Revolution, repeatedly experienced sharp turns of fate. The work tells about the life and work, imprisonment on false charges and the premature death of the admiral, who made a great contribution to the development of the USSR Navy and the victory over Nazi Germany. The book was published as part of the preparation program for the 300th anniversary (1996) of the Russian fleet and is intended for the general reader.
