Children always gladly “expropriated” works that were not intended for them at all. The novels of Jules Verne, Wells, Belyaev have long and firmly entered the golden fund of children's literature. Cooper's books also migrated there. Main Reed and other authors who firmly believed that they were creating for an adult audience. The detective genre was no exception: many of the current readers of the series in childhood enthusiastically “swallowed” the endless adventures of Inspector Losev, detective Gurov, Nil Kruchinin. We were worried about Pronin and Stirlitz... But you shouldn’t think that no one wrote specifically for children. There were also plenty of such works, and proof of this is this collection, which contains only part of the “spy” works addressed to children. Despite the fact that among the authors there were also eminent, talented writers, it was these stories, novellas and poems that could not survive the test of time. But, it seems to us, they will be read with even greater pleasure by a new generation of genre lovers.
