Clone troopers are the backbone of the Grand Army of the Republic. Well-trained, trained, knowing perfectly well how to behave on both sides of the blaster. But what to do when all this knowledge is useless, and the task is just to secretly deliver two girls to the Jedi Temple? True, deliver from a peaceful city. Enemy city. And it’s not at all clear whose side these same girls are on. A work based on the Star Wars universe, the era of the Clone Wars. The book does not contradict the Lucasian canon, but makes minimal use of this same canon. Famous characters from the universe appear as news heroes, or are briefly mentioned in minor episodes. It's the story of a pair of clone troopers, common expendables of war, who are ordered to transport unspecified civilians to Coruscant. During the operation, the Jedi General dies and the clones are forced to act on their own, but not in battles, wild planets or other difficult conditions for which they were prepared from birth, but in the middle of a completely unfamiliar civilian world, to which they are completely unsuited. And with accompanying persons, everything turns out to be not as simple as it seemed at the beginning. The book is not about victims, Jedi, lightsabers and the Force, but about the fate of many “small” and “insignificant” figures drawn into the whirlpool of war, about the meaning of life, the search for one’s place in it, loyalty, duty and love. At the end of the text there is a dictionary, unfortunately, without footnotes or hyperlinks, just a list.
