Louis Henri Boussenard (1847–1910) was a French writer, a classic of adventure literature, who gained worldwide fame after the publication of the novel A Parisian's Journey Around the World (1880). The dizzying success inspired the author, and the adventures of the fearless young Frenchman, who knows how to get out of the most unimaginable scrapes alive and relatively unharmed, continued. In 1882, the second part of the trilogy appeared - the novel “The Adventures of a Parisian in Oceania” (in Russian translation it was also published under the title “Under the Southern Cross”), and in 1885 the third - “Adventures in the Land of Lions, in the Land of Tigers and in the Land of Bisons” ".
