About the life of General A.N. Not much is known about Grishin-Almazov, although many prominent figures of that era wrote about him—the commander of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia, General A.I. Denikin and Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic L.D. Trotsky, writer IA Bunin and virtuoso humorist Teffi, journalist V.V. Shulgin and Prime Minister of the Siberian Government P.V. Vologodsky. Having flashed like a meteor on different fronts of the war, the general himself did not have time to leave behind any diaries and memories, but only a foggy ball of rumors, gossip, legends and fiction, partially created by his own ill-wishers, envious people and rivals. His rapid career and rapid life in these fateful years just as quickly and abruptly ended. Not even a modest burial mound remained of him somewhere in a secluded corner of the old cemetery. So who really was the military governor of Odessa, General Alexei Nikolaevich Grishin-Almazov? Adventurer or hero? You will find the answer to this question in the book of historian M.N. Ivleva.
