Tod Strasser (b. 1950) is an American writer, journalist, and author of more than 120 works for children and teenagers. World fame came to the author after the release of his book “The Wave,” which had the effect of a bomb exploding. The book is based on real events that occurred in 1967 in one of the schools in a small Californian town. History teacher Ben Ross sets up a social experiment to show teenagers what Nazism is in a playful way. At first everything looked like an unusual and exciting adventure, a game of discipline and collectivism. However, just a few days later, Ben Ross realizes that his students, in fact, have turned into model citizens of a totalitarian society.
