The modern history of our country is abundantly saturated with secrets, myths and paradoxes. One of the paradoxes of the history of the USSR is the rise to the heights of power of Nikita Khrushchev - an illiterate, resourceful, cunning and tenacious party functionary, who for ten years not only juggled the destinies of millions of people, but also threatened the existence of an entire planet, balancing on the brink of nuclear war and peace. Book “Khrushchev: intrigue, betrayal, power” is an interesting artistic and journalistic reconstruction of Soviet history of the twentieth century, an honest attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff. The work uses archival materials that were previously closed to wide access. This historical and journalistic chronicle is a logical continuation of the author’s two previous studies, the first of which was dedicated to Nicholas II, and the second to J.V. Stalin.
