The near future. The beginning of the next century. The solar system remains home to humanity, dotted with habitations. The infopole cuts through the vacuum of space between stations and planets, turning them into one system, limited only by the speed of light. The philosophy of Ivan Efremov has permeated a world where governments have given way to a conglomerate of corporations, silently holding the reins of power, but subject to the ban on monopolies. One of the terraforming complexes, located near Saturn, discovers something that could change humanity's understanding of its role in the universe.
