XXIII century. An interstellar expedition lands on an unusual planet, which is the only one in the red dwarf system located at the beginning of the space-time corridor. Since criminal organizations often introduce their agents into the crew, for safety reasons a commissioner for the protection of interstellar routes was included in the expedition under the guise of a pilot of the highest category. The expedition encountered complications - almost half of the crew actually turned out to be members of a criminal group. Seemingly having overcome difficulties, upon returning the expedition got lost in time, ending up not home, but presumably in the past of the Earth... or in another world altogether, from which they still need to get out. The main character is an extraordinary person with a tragic fate. For him personally, for a number of reasons hidden in the past, returning is impossible - he has no place among other people. Therefore, he is forced to become an exile.
