Usually, the creators of TV series or films choose a book and adapt it into a film. In this case, everything happened completely the opposite. Inspired by the British television series, the English writer Tom Graham decided to write a series of books about the subsequent adventures of his heroes - Sam Tyler and Gene Hunt.
Life on Mars - a BBC series about a detective , living in the 21st century, who mysteriously ends up in 1973 (2006 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series). The genre of “Life on Mars” is a detective drama, in which there was a place for mystical transfer in time, on which the whole story is tied. The series got its name in honor of David Bowie's song “Life on Mars?”.
Due to the high popularity of the series in the UK, their own version was also filmed in the USA.
